Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located? (Please read this – if nothing else)

I live in Metuchen, NJ. I can't tell you how many models have contacted me for photo  shoots only to learn they are in Australia, Europe, Canada, California and the Mid-West. Obviously we need to be in a proximity of each other that is reasonably within a short drive (3 hours each way or somewhere in the middle). I have shot local models from NY, NJ, PA, MD, VA , CT and other regions /countries when they are on tour.

Do you charge for photo shoots?

Yes, however, I will consider TFP (Time for Photos) with a select few models. You need not be perfect. I am looking for models that are unique and can add something special to my portfolio of works. I also provide digital editing, scanning, printing and Photoshop classes .

Are you a professional?

Yes, I shoot all events and am a "freelance" photographer. This means I am not under contract and shoot as I desire.  I shoot regularly for several NJ newspapers almost daily. II have recently sold images for DVD covers, Corporate Promotions and Greeting Cards

Do you have a studio?

No not yet... I am presently building my studio. In the meantime.I do have a friend who lets me use his studio for free. If I make money from the shoot I give him a cut. The studio is in Metuchen NJ.

Where do you shoot?

Just about anywhere. The Studio, The beach, parks, and sometimes at the models home. This is your choice. The best locations have a lot of room, windows. a whole lot of ambient light, and are secluded. I have portable lighting, umebrellas, reflectors, etc

Why do you want photos of me and what will you do with the photos?

Your images will not be sold unless you sign a written agreement allowing me to do so. If I do sell them I will give you 30% of the gross.

The TFP images are used to promote myself and not to make money. My site is free without
advertising. If you would like shots for your web site to sell we can work this out as well. All I ask
is shared rights to the photos.

Does your wife know you are a Glamour Photographer?

Yes, but she is not too happy with it. It is something I have been doing long before I met her. As a promise to her, I have agreed not to discuss it at home or do model shoots in my home.

Do I need to sign a release?

Yes, but the release will clearly state the following:

I will not sell the photos without your permission. I will not use any on my web site without your  permission. I will remove them from my site at any time after the release upon your request. You can add any additional restrictions to the release. I just have a release to protect myself. This also protects your rights as well.

Do you have references?

Yes many, and they are available to you upon request. There is also a page on this site with links to models and photographers you can contact. Feel free to do so. Also, ask as many questions as you like since I do not mind answering them.

Can I bring an escort to the shoot?

Absolutely! I am looking to practice my art and nothing else. I prefer that the model bring a friend or two since they help to keep the model at ease and this will no doubt show on your face. Also, they come in handy with holding reflectors and pointing out obvious flaws in poses, makeup and  lighting conditions (Shadows). I usually give them a quick tutorial on what to look for since I am usually preoccupied with technical aspects of the set.

I am somewhat intimidated by the beautiful women in your images. Can you make me look good?

That's what Glamour Photography is all about, The art of making women looking their best. While all of the women on my site are beautiful, the images I chose are the best of 200-400 images from each shoot. ou can expect around 10 images that I deem OK (My standards are no doubt higher than yours). 

I plan to take images from angles that flatter the model and hide any imperfections. If I have asked you to pose it is because I can see that you have beauty that maybe you have overlooked. Some of the women on this site are over 40. One is near 60. I do not believe that beauty stops at 30.

How long is the photo shoot?

Well, that is really up to you. I try very hard to make my shoots a learning experience and fun. I find that after 3-4 of shooting hours even the most experienced models become tired. It does depend on the location and how many lights and equipment I will need. Studio shots are
quicker since all of the equipment is set up and close by

What do I need to do to prepare for a shoot?

The most important thing is to decide what type of photos you want/need and convey this to me. Then we need to go over poses that work best with your features. By all means prepare any clothing you need. Give this some thought. Make sure your roots are dyed and nails done. Get some sleep. Not too  much makeup unless we are doing “Goth” or “Fetish”. Bring a girlfriend who is really good at make up if necessary.

Man, this sounds like a lot of work!

Well no one said modeling is easy. It will go fast and you will hopefully end up with some images that you will be glad to have, especially many years from now. It will be worth it.

Where do you find your models?

They seem to find me via the web. Some are referred by other models and photographers . Some are wannabe models others are Pros who have seen my work. I also get requests from girls seeking pictures as a present to their boyfriends and husbands. 

Is Nudity a requirement?

Not at all!, but sexiness is, I am a glamour photographer. Many of my shoots were non nudes In fact I
shot one girl on a beach in a full-length dress while everyone else there had a bathing suit on.
